12 days of earrings has got me excited about making jewelry and now I want to make some necklaces. For now, I think I will go on vacation with my family to the beach. I will be back in a couple of weeks. Sea ya later.

Well it was great to take a couple of days off. It seems spring is here and working in the garden has revived my soul. I love putting my hands in the dirt. I really don't like to wear gloves when I garden it feels so nice. Today my hands are suffering though. It is hard to believe just 6 days ago the kids were playing in the snow. After day 9 I just ran out of ideas. I spent two days thinking and now I am on to something new. I put two convex spheres together. I have been wanting to do this but could not get around not soldering them together. Without getting too technical, soldering this kind of metal would not look good. So I just strung them together with with wire and to my surprise, it looks good. My son Abe said, "mom thats amazing, how did you make these little symbols" It's true, thats what they are like.

I love these earrings they are so fun! I made them from a tin tray that my friend Tatjana found for me. I made a great discovery that if I put circles back to back I get a more finished product. So now each piece will have twice as many pieces and it is well worth the extra effort.

Announcing, Spring Flowers Cluster!
Tuesday, March 3, 2009
Wow, I forgot I made a pair of earrings and didn't post them. I was so concerned about getting them on Etsy. I will make these my pair for today. They are the same design as Day 5 earrings but in that beautiful turquoise pattern. I am thinking about making something more metal worked, maybe bezel setting one of these pieces.
Thank you for visiting. The purpose of this blog is to document what is going on in my studio, and to share my progress. I have recently decided to create a line of jewelry using found metals, mostly old tins from the thrift store, combined with silver, gold, crystals, pearls or whatever I can find. I so appreciate all of the support I have gotten from my friends and family. I also love the tins I have been receiving from them. It seems everyone now has an eye for some poor old tin that needs new life, thanks.
